Dr. Sooraj Kumar Maurya

Sooraj Kumar Maurya is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening), University of Delhi. His research asks how philosophical ideas can help us understand, and respond to, practical questions of justice, equality, and technology. His doctoral research examined affirmative action in Western philosophy. That work shaped his later writing on distributive justice, gender discrimination, and equity in education. More recently, he has turned to the ethics of artificial intelligence and digital life. He also draws on Indian traditions, particularly Jain anekāntavāda and syādvāda, to think about knowledge, disagreement, and truth in the digital age. Before joining Zakir Husain Delhi College (Evening), he taught at Ramanujan College, University of Delhi, where he served as Teacher-in-Charge of the Department of Philosophy. He was also Managing Editor of the International Journal of Applied Ethics.
